Husband Clothes

This is kind of neat but kind of FUNNY. It also sets a record–it’s the first time my husband was ever able to name a movie star in conversation without help. (Oh, sidenote: Yesterday my husband came home at 8:00pm!!!! Woohoo!!!)

So we were sitting outside drinking tea and telling stories at the atrocious new patio table he got us. And he mentions that he saw Tom Cruise at work. They didn’t talk, but apparently they passed each other, and he heard Tom Cruise talking about something, and so on.

I asked, “When did you see him?”

My husband said, “Oh, like a month ago.”

A MONTH AGO? Granted, I’m not a huge Tom Cruise fan, never really was. But he’s still one of those pretty big stars (albeit a weird one now, too bad…). But if you saw Tom Cruise, wouldn’t you kind of talk about it that DAY. Or at least that WEEK?

Not my husband. He just doesn’t feel it’s big news when you see movie stars. He liked that I got all excited about him seeing Tom Cruise, so he followed the story up by mentioning that he saw some other big stars recently too. He was serious. But he couldn’t remember the names of the stars. This is a common scenario–he sees movie stars at work, tries to tell me, I get all excited, but he can’t remember their NAMES. (Even Angelina Jolie and Natalie Portman–I am 100% serious, true stories.)

So, to my husband, seeing Tom Cruise isn’t really important news at all. It’s barely even worth mentioning. Hey, while I don’t understand that all or whatsoever, there’s definitely something real to it, and I LIKE it. My husband’s a really odd guy. And part of his oddness kicks some serious butt.

PS. Despite NOT being excited by seeing Tom Cruise, my husband was ALL happy about seeing how big my belly is right now. He loves babies more than any other person on earth. He may be odd. He may give me dirty looks for making him mow even when I’m 8 months pregnant (a month ago), but he definitely has his pluses.
